From The East - April 2011
Written by Don Tansey

My Brothers it is difficult to believe that a quarter of the year already lies behind us.

We have already accomplished much, having welcomed four new Entered Apprentices into St. John’s Lodge – and the Fraternity at large. We have been holding a School of Instruction every Sunday at the Temple building; and I am very happy with the progress they have made to date.

Our officer corps is doing a fine job for our Degree Work and taking more responsibility for Lodge operations. Many of us have demanding personal and professional schedules, but in spite of this, I have seen a tremendous amount of commitment on the part of our officers.

In case you aren’t aware, we now have a meal before every Stated Communication regardless of whether or not we have a Degree. Our Junior Steward, Greg Giboski, together with Brother Todd Berch have been providing outstanding meals. They have my sincere thanks.

Brethren, we have some serious issues to discuss at our April meeting. Even if your schedule doesn’t allow you to attend Lodge regularly, I strongly encourage you to attend on April 11th. The disposition of the Temple building will be discussed. That meeting will also be the occasion of a canned food drive to benefit Amazing Grace shelter in Middletown. I hope to see you then.

Sincerely and Fraternally,

Don Tansey
